Reigning champions Baltinglass face one of the toughest tasks of the weekend - apart from Coolkenno, who take on a rejuvenated Rathnew - when they take on Casey O'Brien's St Patrick's in a repeat of last year's decider in which Paul Garrigan's men got the better of the Wicklow town side fairly convincingly to bring Miley back west for the first time in a number of years.

Newtown on the other hand are building a totalyl new team with young men such as Darren Walsh, Aaron Toner, Sean Gregory, Declan Doyle, and Steven Davis all looking to return the Magpies to better times. They still have loyal servants in the form of Shane Mooney and Paul O'Riordan to name but a few and manager John Murphywill leave no stone unturned to return to Newtown with a win under their belts come Sunday night..

Hogan got another pair of points, with Tinahelys third goal of the day, scored by Sarah Byrne, sandwiched in between. Finally, 21 minutes of gametime after their last point, AGB got back on the scoreboard, through Rachael Byrne. Jackie Kinch fed Laura Hogan yet again, for another point. At this point, however, it was mere damaged limitations; the game had long since been lost.

Next up is Aughrim on Wed 18 Sep and a win will see lads through to championship final on Oct 4th. . On Wed 11 the lads secured a fourth win on the trot V St Kevins in what was a tight game and came a way with a 2 point advantage on 2:12 to 3:09. . Training Friday 7 to 8pm. U15 Notes Blessington played St Pats away on Wed 4th Sep and came away with a win on a score of 2:09 to 1:07.

Hogan would pass up another two chances to get Tinahelys second goal, but Rory Stokes troops would not be denied. Charging in off the left, Sarah Byrne was dragged back by one of the AGB defenders, presenting Jackie Kinch with the opportunity to double their goal tally from the spot, which she duly did, making the score 2-06 to 0-03.

Alan Costello's ire g went out to Coolkenno last year and injuries to Danny Woods and Sam Thompson will leave them asent of some important figures but you look down the list and hey can still boast warriors like Stephen 'Chester' Kelly and Daren Hayden and there's no dounting that the Greystones men will see this game as eminently winnable and a great way to get their championship off to a victorious start.

John Smith from Rathvilly is the Tinahely manager and key men are Alan Dillon who helped himself to a collection of points against Newtown in a recent league match while Stephen Dillon, Oisin Furlong, Michael Byrne, and Tony Darcy will also feature strongly for them. Despite beating Aughrim in their opener last year, Tinahely fell to Avondale after they had lost to Rathnew.

On Sat 14 Sep our lads played their last game in NKL away to Maynooth.11 2007 lads travelled and 4 from 2008 (Ciaran/Alfie/Ethan and Jamie). Maynooth fought hard early in second half, but blessington lads battled to the end to finish year on a great win and looking forward to Final. Lads started really well and our finishing was exceptional. Thanks to parents for travelling on a busy sporting day.

If Bray could do it last year, then why not Coolkenno? The difficulty for the Coolkenno men is the threat of the Rathnew attack and their strength around midfield but they will have taken real hope from the news that Ross O'Brien and Jamie Snell are not around for much of the summer so will go into this game with serious ambition.
