Philadelphia 76ers will win

Boston Celtics – Philadelphia 76ers Match Prediction | 24-08-2019 19:40

In 2017, it was the trade that sent Markelle Fultz to the Sixers for Jayson Tatum. In this draft, the Celtics traded the 20th pick, Matisse Thybulle to the Sixers for the 24th and 33rd picks. For the second time, these two teams are tied together by a draft night trade. Celtics fans are hoping that the Celtics will have similar luck with this trade. The Celtics traded the 24th pick to Phoenix and took Carsen Edwards with the 33rd pick. Tatum has become an integral part of the Celtics rotation while Fultz has not played more than a handful of games since he was drafted.

This is a first step to finding out. Tacko Fall vs Christ KoumadjeThis should be one of the matchups that is most fun to watch. Koumadje impressed in his first game on Friday with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks. The 76 (or 77) Tacko Fall vs the 74 Christ Koumadje. Will either prove to be worthy of making the team? Which of the giants will win the matchup.

In the meantime, the Celtics are coming off of a 114-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Monday night in a match that secured Denvers place in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The timing of this is rather cruel from a Philadelphia point of view given Embiid posted his fifth straight double-double in Wednesday nights 118-113 victory over Washington. The 76ers (12-8) are holding strong on their policy of not playing Joel Embiid on consecutive nights to continue giving his left knee time to heal as the third overall pick in the 2014 draft tries to play a full season for the first time in his career.

While the Philadelphia 76ers continue to trust the process, the maturation process will be tested Thursday night when they face the Boston Celtics without Joel Embiid.

Brown has the size to fluster Simmons, something that will be used more often given the rookie's consistent ability to get to the rim and finish. Don't be surprised if the Celtics throw multiple bodies at Simmons, chief among them Smart, as they try to wear down a rookie who may feel the pressure to put it all on his shoulders without Embiid running alongside him.

The Wizards reduced a 14-point deficit to 5 while adopting that strategy. At one point, Simmons missed 8 of 12 free throws before hitting 5 of 6 after that to right the ship. And to a degree, it worked. Simmons went 11 of 24 from the line in that span, setting an NBA record for fourth-quarter free throw attempts.

Im going with Boston Celtics -4.5 Point Spread @ 10/11. They also had the best defensive rating in the NBA last year giving up an average of 103.9 points per game, with that in mind and the return of their two big game players, they should be able to cover the spread set at -4.5 on home court. The Celtics covered the betting spread in 62.6% of games last season which was the most by any team in the league.

McConnell to step up. With Boston having an insane squad depth and a fully fit squad they should be able to hold out for a win on opening night at a lively TD Garden. Celtics have dominated the 76ers in recent years winning 11 of their last 12 regular season games, Philly do have a much better squad now but they still need the likes of Markelle Fultz and T.J. They will be key for the success of this franchise in the near future.

The bigger issue was committing turnovers, as the 76ers totaled 42 miscues in those games, which led to 39 points for opponents. - Philadelphia did not rely heavily on 3-point shooting in their previous two games without Embiid, taking only 51 long-range shots among their 163 total attempts. Saric made the difference in the win over Utah by going five of nine from beyond the arc, and he'll be needed again to stretch Boston's defense. So where will the Sixers get their points?
