Our Prediction:

RB Leipzig will win

RB Leipzig – Eintracht Frankfurt Match Prediction | 20-08-2019

After a disappointing start to 2019, where a 1-0 defeat at home to league leaders Borussia Dortmund saw the gap between them and the top spot increase to 14 points, the Red Bulls are back on track. Leipzig have lost just one league outing there since April (W8 D2 L1) and the return of forward Timo Werner from illness can only boost their chances of keeping that record going. Leipzig followed up convincing league wins over Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hannover 96 with progression through to the Quarter Finals of the DFB Pokal on Wednesday, and most importantly for Saturday, another game at the Red Bull Arena is on the way.

Did Luka Jovic earned himself a place in the starting line-up with the match-winner at Velodrome? Goals came from Lucas Torro and Luka Jovic. Nonetheless, the two sides will enter the game in opposite moods following Thursdays Europa League fixtures. The Eagles managed to make a huge comeback to see off Olympique Marseille (last term runners-up) 1-2 away at Stade Velodrome. The achievement is greater if we know that Frankfurt had a man sent off at the hour-mark at the 1-1 scoreline.

The Red Bull Arena outfit have been showing signs of improvement of late, but seeing that die Adler are tough to beat at home, we predict the two teams are going to share the spoils on Matchday 23. In their last meeting at Commerzbank-Arena the two sides played out a 2-2 draw. Leipzig, on the other hand, retained second position in the Bundesliga table thanks to a 2-0 win over Augsburg. Eintracht are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but the game against the Red Bulls will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Buoyed by a 4-2 win over Koln, Eintracht Frankfurt will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they welcome Leipzig at their Commerzbank-Arena. Die Adler continue to impress in the 2017/2018 Bundesliga campaign as they sit in the Champions League berth ahead of Monday's football match against Leipzig.

Head to Head

There are many famous football players that played for EIntracht Frankfurt in their career like Pfaff, Moller, Low, Okocha, Kopke and Berthold. Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the few clubs in Germany that won the Bundesliga; in the season 1958/1959 were able to win the league. Other important prizes Eintracht Frankfurt won are the DFB Pokal (4 times) and the the UEFA Cup in 1980.

The Red Bulls are determined to book their place in the Champions League and they seem to be on top of their game ahead of Saturdays football match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite the fact that key attacker Timo Werner missed the game with injury, Leipzig rolled over relegation strugglers Hannover 3-0 on the road at the weekend. Die Adler, on the other hand, did well to hold Borussia Dortmund to a draw in their last league match, with Luka Jovic scoring his 14th goal of the season. Taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. Eintracht Frankfurt are enjoying a season to remember and despite the fact that Leipzig have found their best form of late, we predict that the visitors are going to grab something from the Red Bull Arena clash.

Highlighted Player (Simon Falette):

RB Leipzigs mid-week Europea League outing was not as promising as Frankfurts, having suffered a late3-2 defeatat the hands of Red Bull Salzburg. Leipzig were comprehensively beat 4-1 away to Borussia Dortmund in their only Bundesliga away match this season a match that came shortly after an away trip to Ukrainian outfit Zorya whereas their only league win so far last weekends 3-2 victory over Hannover came after a full week of rest. Leipzig have just a few days to recover since Thursday, and the possible absence of star forward Timo Werner, who was rested against Salzburg after picking up a knock last weekend, could make this even more tricky. Leipzig have had hot and cold patches since the start of the 17/18 season, and based on the way the Red Bulls have started their 18/19 campaign, you can only assume its in part due to the strain of juggling both league and European competition.

Die Bullen wear white shirts and red shorts while their away kit is blue and yellow. Ralph Hasenhuttl was appointed as the teams manager at the end of the 2015/2016 season and you should know that the likes of Ralf Rangnick, Achim Beierlorzer, Alexander Zorniger, Peter Pacult, Tomas Oral and Tino Vogel were in charge of the team in the past as well.

However, he made no more than five league appearances for Lyngby in the 2011/2012 season. Yussuf Poulsen is a Danish footballer who started his youth career at BK Skjold. At the age of 14 he joined Lyngby and he made his debut for the first team on 4 December, 2011. He came as a substitute in a match against Horsens after 84 minutes, substituting Mathias Tauber.

Hehas scored in every Bundesliga game so far this season and so should be the one to look out for on Sunday.Eintracht have never lost at home to RB Leipzig (W1 D1), though that record only goes as far back to the 16/17 season, when the Red Bulls participated in their maiden top flight debut, and against a Leipzig side that has the joint third worst defensive record in the Bundesliga (7 goals conceded), the Frenchman should like his chances of keeping that run going. And with Leipzig showing no signs of turning this around, you cant help but fancy the home side to get a result here. Now we know that Frankfurt are way further down the charts in terms of shots on goal than Leipzig, but its interesting that they have scored just one goal fewer that is, Frankfurt are taking their chances, unlike the Red Bulls. After that mid-week win, Frankfurt will feel invincible, and their new signings have made last seasons top scorer Sebastien Haller (pictured) even more dangerous. Our prediction: 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt.

Coach Adi Hutter has some big decisions to make before Sunday though, both in terms of offense and defense. He has been one of Frankfurts most dangerous attacking assets over the past year and would absolutely help reignite The Eagles shaky start to the Bundesliga season. After beating last seasons Europa League runners up Marseille in the opening match of the same competition on Thursday,Eintracht Frankfurt should be in good spirits ahead of Sunday, if not only for the fact that they did so, despite being down to 10-men. Frankfurts saving grace is that Croatian World Cup star Ante Rebic is an option against RB Leipzig. Croatian striker Luka Jovics winning goal in that match puts him in contention for a start, while Timothy Chandler, Carlos Salcedo, and left-back Jetro Willems are all missing from Eintrachts back line (see team news).
